i really hope this storyline will unfold into something reasonable, because for me it's still unclear why Mitsuki was nearly torturing herself playing in that band, and even quit playing guitar after the incident... because being a guitar player myself i can't imagine the situation that will make me do that
This + I don't get why she doesn't talk about it with her partner. I swear after the timeskip the communication got worse between them, nonsense eliminating any progress they made before

Because she's been in three other bands and ALL of them didnt work out. Chapter 148, its implied that each of the previous bands disbanded before they manage to do anything. This is the first band that all the members are at least taking it seriously and for the most part they get along really well. After cycling through three bands, you definitely want to try and make the fourth stick. So Mitsuki is now stuck between a rock and a hard place.

She spent these months drawing 10s of pages for the exclusive bonuses for the various Japanese online retailers, her other gigs, and maybe resting.

She doesn't live her life for entitled fuckers like you.
Mate, other mangaka also do anything you said there; but their works are 2 to 3 times longer than hers monthly.
And they usually only take a month of chapter-release break because of the new tankobon release.
Also, we got nothing in this chapter after three months in real world time. Just, "Oh, she lost her music." and no explanation wharsoever or make her concert goes longer to play our feelings with every monologue Mitsuki/Aya could have. Just straight out that happens and then time skip.

It's really touching to see how much you care about the manga authors working themselves to death.

Sure, Jan, we’re all looking forward to your almost seventy pages of detailed manga every month that you’ll make free to read and which will never take a break ever especially not while you’re preparing a volume over the holidays.

As for the story critique, if you
can’t thread together bitesize drops, just be kind to yourself and wait for the volumes.

We're setting up for a longer haul and I'm excited for that. Her reaction to that trauma is interesting and could lead to some "fun" interactions even while I assume she'll try to present as normal for a bit.

Eventually, it'll come to a head. I wonder what'll happen in the meantime since Aya already understands there's an issue but can't find a good opportunity to pry without a negative reaction. Maybe the new "friend" will play a part in all of it. Also, a bug in my face like that would make me lose my mind lol.

This is just another step showing that something has changed for Mitsuki that she is too traumatized to share even with Aya. That's an interesting character decision that is not settled yet.

We may find out what the band breakup conversation was like later or we may not. It serves a purpose though to avoid those moments for now because narratively Mitsuki does not want us or Aya to know. We are meant to wonder like Aya does. Nowhere in this chapter is the problem settled. I'm sure we'll continue to tiptoe around Mitsuki's issue moving forward as it builds. I wonder how she'll eventually react when Aya does successfully broach the topic.

It's also not just a lack of communication. Aya clearly understands the need for talking but recognized that it's potentially a major sore spot for Mitsuki and is unsure how to bring it up without causing major blowback or further trauma. That's a good thing to be hesitant about, while still looking for opportunities.
