I'd say: wait for the next chapter?
that was a cliffhanger we were left with, perspective shifted to the fight agains kisashi, and now we are given a shock of whatever happened Hitsugi left the fight to go kill Kizashi yet Desscaras is after him through the mass of zombies. This is a rather common thing, leave the audience with tension, shift perspective, connect both with a turn of events. This is simply to manage the flow between 2 action scenarios with drama and dialogue ocurring simultaneously, rather than a lack of comitment we are just seeing the result of something off-screen that we may be shown next.
