I’m wondering if it even matters that Second showed his cards considering he’s not the one battling for that title yet. It’s just Silvia, the old man doesn’t benefit from it unless he has an ally who is in one of Second’s blocks.
Would using all that be even legal? Imagine pulling out the equivalent of a few nukes in a bow title match.

Ara, ara. Someone's in trouble.
Ngl, she should've been executed on the spot for the attempted murder of a knight and an embassy official (I think that's an ambassador, if I'm correct). That and they compensate him with something other than the meal.

i think the title match only allow the participant to use a specific skill of certain rank. im still confused since they use skill tree overall lv (like archery mastery lv XX that unlock archery skills) as Opo-opo, Cougar, Dragon and General rank while each rank has 9 Lvs or sub-rank (e.g Quickdraw Lv 1 to 9). and apparently the skill can gain exp. without using it (when they rush the Anko dungeon, Silvia mention her skills rank up just by being carried by Second and Anko).

Since Second wanted to get Titles for Swordmanship, Archery and Magic, he mostlikely will be using the highest lv skills from these 3 branches. Revealing Anko and Anglomois was simply to intimidate these knife ears that they messed with the person single-handedly force an invading army to retreat just few weeks ago

Yeah, it was pretty obvious the old man was baiting them by not restraining the hotheaded one in exchange for info on their competition.🤷‍♂️
...Not sure is MC realized it, or knew about it but let it happen due to his arrogance. I know it's fine to have flaws, but it's also due to MC's own arrogance that I want him to fail after putting so much trust in his strength to pull him through in all situations... Even till now I'm not sure if he really sees that he's really in the world living a real life or does he still unconsciously still think this is all a game, and that the people are convenient NPC's and the events that occur are all just quests to get exp out of?
Chumps like you always confuse arrogance with confidence, this is the MC's bread and butter we all know he's about to dominate and show these guys that they are underestimating him wayyy too much

I don't think it would matter anyway since he showed a parry and spirit summoning and monster summoning. I remember there being a title for spirit summoning...unless I'm remembering wrong and Second would win that easily having the most powerful spirit and able to take on his abilities.

Same for monster summoning if there is a title for that. Anko is broken as a summon hence why he had to grind for her. If anything the 400 year old should be terrified that a 17 year old is that powerful considering their age gap. I think he might have gained perspective but I hoped this counts as poking the bear and Second just outright maims him or both of them later.

Yeah it totally looked intentional. He could've managed with only 1 summon, not both, but I guess he doesn't mind showing 3 cards at once.

All of this is pointless compared to getting 3 titles after all.
He is used to showing all his skills to the top players in the world. Three is nothing

I honestly don't see the old elf coming ahead with just this. Sure, now he knows that MC can summon a "very strong spirit" and a "very strong dark monster" and a couple of his skills. But in exchange he had to play the fool, tarnish his reputation and prolly make an enemy of an entire kingdom, and MC still has sht ton skills and gaming experience hidden.

The dude dedicated himself to the game even when it was still a game. His real life is the game, and the game his real life. He makes no distinction of it.

He is arrogant, he did say he was the No. 1 with a wide margin worldwide. He went through many of these title matches, I'm sure his technique, fighting style, strengths and weakness has been studied by others to death, yet he still won and has never been defeated.

Yeah it was a somewhat even trade. Old man got a lot of info but MC showed how weak they are in comparison to him.

After reading ahead and knowing a very similar skill/level system from an mmorpg i used to play (like seriously everything felt practically one to one) I think I can explain. Technically spoilers, but in the sense that I'm spoiler-ing the rules and not plot stuff.

Anyways, the skill trees for martial arts skills basically go [Main attack style (archery, martial arts, swordsmanship, etc)] as the main umbrella so to speak => [9 different types of attacks/skills named after shogi pieces unlocked by doing certain actions involving the attack type] Said attacks/skills under the Archery umbrella are things like "strong single hit" and "rapid fire" and so on.

For each of those 9 types, there are levels you can upgrade them to using experience/points gained by leveling. If I recall there are 25 levels per skill, going from 16th Class to first Class, then 1st Dan/Grade to 9th Dan/Grade. In order to compete in the title match of your preferred style (Archery, Swordsmanship, Shield arts, etc) you would need to have the max level for each skill. So if you wanted the Archery competition, you would need 9th Dan in all the shogi piece named skills for archery.

Relatedly, in magic, things are similar in that there is an "umbrella" of skills for each element (fire, water, wind, earth, lightning) but instead of shogi terms they use... well im not sure exactly but I think it's martial arts. I sorta just know they're 5 of them per element and go something like "4th form" and "5th form" (forms 1-3 have a real name attached to it but I can never remember off the top of my head). Interesting to note, there isnt a title match exclusively for fire magic or anything, just magic in general, so the requirements here are to have one magic element with all their skills at max 9th Dan.

And that's about it, feel free to ask clarifying questions

Anko + Angolmoa combo is so broken it doesnt matter if he show it in front of the general old man. mc is just showing his bare minimum to show how cold headed, deep and bold he is
