Ahah, yeah. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but I remember I did write a long explanation on bato for that.
See, her name is written イレーネ in japanese, which phonetically reads iraynay. Which I mulled on whether to westernize it as either elaine or illene. But I never considered it as Irene because I do read the novels and I know the princess 's name is アイリーン irene/aileen. And it didn't make sense to have those two names translated too close to each other especially when you can hear in the drama cd lloyd and saltis calling her illene/ elaine and most definitely not irene no matter how you contort your mind to it. Case in point in this clip

Also like I said in bato, I decided on the name saltis instead of sartis because if it had been sartis, his nickname would be sart and that would rhyme with fart and that was no bueno for me.
So yeah. The mangaka seemed to go along with the official english name, but with the stubbornness of a donkey, I'm dying on this name hill

I have no idea how they're going to pull the official english name in the anime especially when you can hear the pronunciation there.
