To people with Mana if the person that puts the collar on them issues a command if they don't obey it it starts choking them. He doesn't have Mana so it doesn't do anything to him so it's just a kink thing.

In his case, since he has no magic, it doesn't affect him. He still wears it because at first it put at ease the more skittish demi-humans. Now it's more of a wedding ring/fashion statement

After this chapter, there are mostly some build-up chapters on things happening and what MC does, and then there is also a part of restoring Melty's Horns which involves Grande (which is why he said what he said to her in this chapter), after that there is a short plot of MC and Sylphy returning to the Black Forest for a holiday, and it is during this time when Grande turns into a girl.
