Honestly, a good way the author gets to sidestep gear power creep in the narrative (atleast by way of what cross gets to have)All that chicken meat and now it's completely inedible.

1. Cross is a childNot gonna lie, I’d really like to see some progress on the romance front soon
I mean, the entire premise is built around Cross gettinggroomedtrained by the ladies so that he’s strong enough to be their spouse. I’d at least like to see something other than just comedic relief SA
Honestly I'm not sure how anyone could defeat her.Jesus, she's practically immortal![]()
I also think that, in the romance front, the story will try to go full true harem, but as said in the first or so chapter, Cross romance life will not be cemented in any way until he is capable of defeating or at least fighting off the three of them at the same time, and I very much doubt that by that point the story wouldn't make sure that he feels a strong romantic attraction for (at least) his three masters + the Hero. I also think that the end will include in some way or another the rest of the "main" female cast (Giselle, Seras, Sylphy and whoever joins next) and given the difference in power levels and the age of one of the proverbial "haremettes" it's quite certain there will either be a progressive but fast passage of time or one or two timeskips at some point.1. Cross is a child
2. The only person you could say he has anything approaching feelings for is the Hero
3. He is otherwise seemingly aromantic and notices nothing of the affection the...eight? women in the running have for him
4. The Big Three each want him for herself and check the others every time something romantic starts to happen
5. They also check everyone else who even thinks of joining the race
6. This is a battle manga first and foremost built on a questionably romantic premise. But other than Lucky Pervert moments and the obvious comedy-coded SA stuff done to Cross by others, I doubt actual romance will factor in for awhile yet, because Cross himself isn't at that stage and would need a serious catalyst to "open" that side of him.
