Uwaki scans is the group translating the manga though, and no one else wants another group to try and translate the manga themselves when Uwaki is just doing it better. There's literally just no reason to try and snipe a manga from a good group, and it doesn't really matter if this is a first attempt or not. They just shouldn't have gone for a manga that was already consistently and well translated. Even if they did do translation much, much better, there's still not really a good reason to snipe a manga from another group cause you can just take your superior translation skills to a manga that isn't being translated.

Just in case the group sees this I just wanna say, keep doing translations. We'll always need more quality translations on this site, but know that the criticism/hate you're seeing is valid, and it is common. You're never gonna snipe a series without getting backlash, and sniping really doesn't help anybody. There are tons of manga that don't have any chapters at all or just don't have consistent or ongoing translation and you can practice on those. PLEASE, do not make a habit of sniping. It hurts your reputation, it hurts the morale of the group you snipe from, and it makes readers REALLY mad.

Tbh I am not going to give any kind of advice, or constructive criticism to a group that has 0 understanding of the language in the source material. This quality of translation is 100% without a shadow of a doubt just mtl/ai tl garbage. End of story.

I do want to support new translations grp, but please also respect for other translation group. I suggest start with other series, this one currently has uwaki scans handle it.

First of all I want to apologize for our actions. Like the chapter said, this is our first ever scanlation, so we didn't know about the concept of "sniping" or the fact that it could possibly lead to Uwaki scans stopping their scanlations. That was never our intent, and I want to sincerely apologize for it.

Second of all, our intention wasn't to try and get popular over another series by just pumping out a bad scanlation. Like we said in the chapter, this was our first scanlation ever. We are just two people (neither of whom any art skills, hence no redrawing). The idea behind translating this series when it already had a group working on it was that for people that wanted faster translations and didn't care about quality as much, they could read our translations instead, and for people who did, they could read Uwaki Scans.

Since we're new to scanlating we didn't know it was common courtesy to reach out to another group, however now that we do, we will stop translating this series and move on to another one that doesn't have a group translating new chapters.

This is not meant to be a justification for our actions but instead an apology and explanation.

I think it would be best if you deleted your version of the chapter. It looks quite heavily Ai translated. If it isn't Ai, then the translation quality still needs a lot of work. Since you're new to scanlating, it would be better to practice on a series that isn't already being translated by another group. That way you can gain experience without causing issues like this. Deleting your version would be the cleanest way to resolve this, especially since you're already stepping back from the project.
