Wonder if that last angle was alluding to someone happening by and seeing the kiss.

That said - I do kinda hope that Minami's true mom actually does come clean. I know that part of the stipulation for working there was to never tell her children who she really is, but....I feel like the circumstances have changed, and the Patriarch himself should weigh back in and revisit that initial decision made by him and his late wife.
