Maybe I'm just hoping for a subversion but I get the feeling it isn't something as simple as Mochizuki just "wanting to be loved/praised" since that is a bit trite. I feel like Mochizuki genuinely just gets off to the idea of being part of a "perfect family" that "sacrifices themselves" to make each other happy. Like, pay attention to her behavior, someone who just wants to be loved doesn't get heart eyes and starts getting a nose bleed (the quintessential sign of extreme arousal) when they are looking for something platonic and wholesome.

Like, she gets sexual gratification from the idea that she's part of the family which is why she's been so horny towards Tanuki and Komaru whenever they do bog standard family shit like visiting a hotspring together and it also explains why she get repulsed when Tanuki tried to one up her by aggressively pinning her and putting the moves on her. She doesn't get off to actual sexually charged behavior, she gets off to the wholesomeness itself.

This is also why she's getting visibly upset towards Komaru for handwaving it away as just "oh you just aren't being honest and want to be loved". Not only does it come across as patronizing but it invalidates why she's really doing it and by proxy if Komaru does show affection towards her it won't be out of familial love but rather familiarity (like an adult treating a child affectionately) or worse out of pity.

Or I'm thinking about it too hard and she really does just not realize what she really wants like Komaru figures. I really hope it's not that simple because up till this point Mochizuki was an interesting character specifically because she was hard to figure out.
