I've said it a couple of times in other places: since we have "cautionary horror tales" aimed at kids (usually with the message of "listen to your parents" or "unruly kids get punished by supernatural forces"), we should also make it popular to have "cautionary horror tales" aimed at parents where toxic and abusive parents suffer very graphic and gruesome fates.
This chapter and the previous one seem to be aiming for something similar. But knowing how toxic parents' minds work, they'll just see it as the child being 'ungrateful' or 'needing more discipline' or 'mentally ill/psychopathic/born twisted'.
