Transmasc rep would be fire (assuming I’m interpreting this correctly lol)
Sadly not, it’s going more « tall girl hates being tall » than « my body feels wrong ». Yes, I know the « wrong specs » line would really work, but something about the vibes don’t feel as serious as that would be if this was a trans person.

I’d like to be wrong, though. It ‘d be really cool.

So that gives both Aya and not Mitsuki "a second woman".

Now that both mains have a person in their respective corners, I suspect the threads that have been laid out will begin converging.
Aya & Mitsuki are effectively at the "active avoidance" stage, with Mitsuki refusing to open up about her troubles concerning her music career, and Aya retreating into her film club to avoid going home and being around Mitsuki.
Shu is at the film club, and has already approached Aya and gotten entangled in the latter's infectious energy (seemingly to her own chagrin, after a fashion). And now we have someone who pretty clearly looks up to and idealizes Mistuki in a significant way.

The question from here, I think, comes down to the purpose of Shu and Rinko: are they here to befriend Aya & Mitsuki (respectively), and facilitate the Two Mains coming back together and confronting one another/talking things out? Or, are they going to move on the Mains, either after seeing the rocky situation Aya & Mitsuki are in and "shooting their shot", or otherwise create additional points of conflict between the Main Pair by making one and/or the other jealous with their presence?

But it's neat to see it all start taking shape. There's the obvious "good ending", whatever the roles Shu & Rinko play, that is Aya & Mitsuki working their problems out and growing closer and stronger together.
Or, this takes a hard turn, and Shu and Rinko become active problems in their relationship, to the point something starts to break.
Either way, I'm excited to see where this goes.

And funnily enough--I did not take Aya's random aside of "what if she's cheating on me!?" very seriously back in ch.150.
But now, there's potential for that fear to resurface, say if Aya sees Mistuki and Rinko from a distance and misconstrues the interaction. But that would also potentially mean the plot of them confronting one another moves forward, so...yeah.

Anyway thanks for the TL work as always.

I think it's a combo of tall girl hates being tall and social anxiety. Being a tall girl in high school and standing out can suck majorly, but being a tall girl in a society that thinks clothes look amazing on you and you should model can be flattering. But if you're not comfortable with yourself and have some anxiety about it, then yeah it becomes this.

Look, she seems nice enough but we‘ve been spinning our wheels for a massive while now.

it seems obvious what the author is going for, introducing these nobodies (to readers) that swoon for the MCs and that they will somehow insert into the conflict but that is the least organic way this could go ugh..

I feel like I am taking crazy pills but almost 40 chapters of setup is wild.

It's pretty consistent with the manga in the past was. I think the difference here is that the goal isn't as obvious. Before, the goal was for them to start dating so the set ups, even if they were longer, didn't feel it because it's a much more standard route that these stories go through. But the pacing of the manga hasn't really changed, the goals are just different. We're seeing them as an established couple and seeing what problems they're dealing with as such. It's a slice of life style manga, and these are the people in Aya and Mitsuki's lives.

Well as long as they dont actually end up doing anything with the girls then its fine. But if they actually end up doing anything (flirting, kissing, sex) then the author have destroyed the story

Psh, only 178 centimeters.
Dang, only 5ft 10in. Was expecting that to be closer to 6ft 1 or 2. It's definitely tall for a woman, but not so tall that she'd tower over everybody. She'd be about the same height as the average man and only a little taller than the average woman.

In Japan she would be taller than the average man and a lot taller than the average woman. Japan average height for men is 172 cm and for women its about 158 cm. So at 178 cm she is very tall.

I'm not sure if I like the current pacing or where the story is headed but I do think the author has built up enough good will to trust them to end this arc well.
