My immediate assumption was that this was the kickoff of a 'normal life hallucination' anomaly. Sakura looks at the flower-petal-faced spirit, and then immediately is flashing forward to a normal graduation, maybe the town's curse fading away, maybe growing up and going to college or getting a job or having a romance. But then she starts spotting strange inconsistencies, or Uzu breaks through to her... and she snaps out of the illusion, still right in front of the petal-face, with barely any time having passed. It might not play out exactly like that, but it's where my mind first went.

Yk I'm fearful of this getting an axe cuz I enjoy it greatly and I read that as "we can't do anything but skip to the end" ahhaa

It seems our mc has been here before. She knows something she was never told in the current loop. I'm assuming they're in some kind of loop cuz prez is seemingly immortal and now the mc has been touched, given some kind of deeper connection to it, by the the false-god, or another one of its servants.

The false-god (or servant) was wearing an old fashioned outfit circa 1900s so whoever that is, it's a product of the early years. Perhaps the first servant, the false-god's chosen appearance or a merging of the two.

Pretty neat stuff!

This does feel like a convenient set up for a rushed ending, however if the scanlator says this is simply the next arc things get interesting. If this is a hallucination, then will Sakura keep her memories of those intervening months? What if her and pres started dating because the false God needed to give her something to keep her pliant?

Honestly, it would make absolutely no sense for this to be a rushed ending, because there are many better ways to do it in this chapter alone. All the author would have to do is have the defeat of the spectre lead directly to the False God, either through a non-damaged notebook or just by having it manifest directly. That would give a direct lead-in to a final arc with no new loose threads created. Instead, we get a damaged notebook with new hints about what it might be and what it's origin is, that will require significant follow-up to make any sense at all. There's no reason to do that if the story is ending.

Manga fans are so trigger-happy about 'the axe' these days. I've seen people calling out 'axe' when a main villain gets introduced, when a main villain doesn't get introduced, when a major plot point gets resolved, when a new plot point gets introduced, when a love interest makes a move, when a new story arc is clearly starting... It's exhausting.

WHAT...

And does Sakura-chan knowing how to use the gun a foreshadowing...?
Maybe she's a sleeper agent, an unknowing servant of the false God?

The false God mentioned something about fulfilling her duty?

That or some of these events have happened before, and she's in some sort of antimemetic loop.

Wait... Is this being axed? This feels like it's being axed...
I glanced at the Japanese version (they're 1-2 chapters ahead) and it seems the story is actually just beginning, lol. I guess we're halfway through the story?

A little spoiler for those who are curious.

The story is getting complicated. Sakura (the MC) goes back in time or is subjected to a time loop (I don't remember the exact details) and relives the same events in different ways.

You can't really blame the "trigger happy" fans. In six months three of my favourite yuri mangas got axed. I don't even know how many I've seen It happen before. We act like this because It happened so many times It became a pattern.

Why are you blaming muh "trigger happy fans" when we've been explicitly warned that this manga was on the verge of being axed, not so long ago.
