normal people = read first before comment or create meme.

I HATE that career progression seems to require doing less of what you're good at and more of managing other people. Someone please explain how it makes sense.

I’ve honestly been really weirded out by the latest chapters. It seems to be a “private sector” thing. I’m a civil servant, and being switched to a different job without you asking for it is considered as a sanction that needs a disciplinary committee, where the unions are present, before being enacted (except if your job position disappears altogether, it’s a different case).

And regarding career progression, in most cases you actually have to pass a competitive exam in order to get to a management position, it’s not something that just “happens” to you because you’re doing a good job. Especially because management is a job in and of itself, and you have to prove you have the competences to hold it.
