Yo why don't mangaka understand that making characters confess and making them a couple on the graduation day is the most stupidest thing they can do, especially if the character is moving to a different place entirely for higher studies and stuff cuz like that's just stupid the characters basically missed high school dating where they're actually together and not just playing mind games but now they're forced to start their relationship as a long distance relationship, which is the most fuckass sort of relationship, they're barely got any time as a couple with each other and you expect them to be waiting for each other for every break rather than going for someone who's physically closer and can support them in more ways. Total fiction, man, total fiction.

I think it might be a combination of procrastinating for far too long, the yolo concept of 'might as well, for the sake of not leaving behind any regrets' and the negative mindset of having nothing to lose if it doesn't work out, since you won't be seeing them ever again.

I don't think these characters have really bothered to work out the logistics in case the other person accepts their confession...
