ahhhhh... LOVE TRIANGLE drama, here we go again. Time to add some spicy drama with two heroines fighting over MC. and Kurumi already has the classic “winning heroine or lovewrecker” design too, big boobs and long blonde hair :aquadrink:

I really like how they're committing to the psychology of the main character, as though they started with the personality traits/relationship dynamic and asked "why would he be that way" several times, then, crucially, allowed the answers to those questions to inform his other actions/reactions. If it was a more typically superficial treatment, I think he'd be super-hatable from a reader's standpoint.

Similarly, so far, I think Hyougamine feels like a relatively complete and authentic person when compared to other characters fitting the same archetype. Very low bar.

Kind of hate seeing a New Girl already, but... she seems shifty, so that's good.

Too fast for a redemption.
Do you mean "it's too soon in the story for her to have a change of heart" or "that's not enough for me to forgive her?"

This needs more chapters till I can work out how I feel about it. The core ship's dynamic is good. It's a relationship that wasn't reevaluated as they aged into it and their work dynamic made it even worse. Especially into your late teens early twenties you should have room to be a dick and make up for it if it's not gone too far.

FMC has her reasons too, we just need a solid foundation of what the main ship will be till we can see what her piece of shit dad or rival idol-chan are adding. There's a solid enough foundation for good drama but I'm not sure on the romance yet.

Thanks for the TL.

Literally, The story keeps avoiding actually addressing anything in favor of speeding up the romance.

Why are we even bringing a love triangle into this when the main girl hasn’t even properly apologized nor even addressed MC’s feelings over being mistreated by her for several years now. On top of that she hasn’t even started her goal yet and now there’s some other girl?

What’s with speed running everything in these chapters for useless love comedy drama filler.

Both. I prefer if character redemptions were written like Zuuko's from Avatar.
I'll assume that's one of those "takes the whole storyline"-style character transformations of an antagonist, since I only have name recognition of Avatar. Sorry.

I agree that it's a strange point to put a character redemption. Normally, to me at least, "at the beginning" would be expected for:
  • characters who are reunited after a misunderstanding (which kind of fits and kind of doesn't, as they're finally on the same page again, but there's no real misunderstanding other than him not knowing her circumstances and motivations, and they weren't separated to begin with.)
  • the antagonist in a certain type of comeuppance-based story who only started appreciating what they had after they lost it (which also kinda does/doesn't fit, as she's only facing the threat of losing Inukai now, as far as she knows.)

I suspect the author's trying to draw on the things that make it work in both of the above examples, and wanted to start the story with a certain kind of mood or dynamic between the two, because otherwise this is such a long way to go to explain why they never got together.

I'm just not sure what kind of relationship will be the status quo between the leads for the series, but am actually kinda excited to find out. Will their relationship be repaired quickly and the conflict mostly come from threats outside their relationship as they try to meet the sales goal? Will it remain tense and uncertain with nothing cleared up until the end? Or will it be a more unsteady alliance between them with a lot of new misunderstandings as they work together again in an unfamiliar dynamic?

Oh, basically the post by @Phantaminium that went up while I idly typed this out.

Yeah, right now I have to assume the author's rushing to get us caught up with what they consider to be "backstory" before jumping into things proper. Also maybe the fear that the audience would hate the FL if we lingered too long in this space.

I'm surprised it's not a novel adaptation based on how it reads.

EDIT: OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE THIS HAS A [HAREM] TAG. :qq:
