Because given her personality, he's the only one she could rely on. And for her the stakes were obviously REALLY high, so she was not only pushing herself incredibly hard but also expecting the same from him, even if that seems completely insane if you don't have the context for it. Which he didn't. Because she didn't tell him.
They're probably going the angle where it's not even like she wants to be an idol that much, but being an idol is the only way she could become successful enough to wind up with her boy instead of becoming a political pawn for her shitty family.
Don't worry, I'm sure eventually she'll feel real shitty about all this. And then he will. And then something something happily ever after. Sorry. Spoilers, I guess.
