Not really all that uncommon in settings that have necromancers. Its mostly a gamified title that isn't all that dissimilar to a SwordSaint.

The kanji is written as 'immortal' (不死) king, furigana is no life king in katakana.
Floor 19 is undead in katakana.

Unless the story bother to establish reason for them, just think of it as fancy higher tier name essentially. Like how a lot of RPGs have fancier name for higher variant of monsters (like wolf type going up to Garm/Fenrir or such, or dragons -> Tiamat/Bahamut)

I asked this exact same question in a thread for a completely different series some time back; for that series in particular, they were literally using the English term “No-Life King” in katakana.

I think it's mostly a Japanese thing, they seem to think the hyphenated English sounds cooler, because I've been seeing these for many years now, always The No Life King, No-Life King, or King No-Life.
