Imagine having been on a site since 2018 and still being dumb enough not to check the raw release date before shitting on the translator. please do not reproduce your inferior genetics
For people reading this comment a few months from now: this chapter was split into two parts. The last part was released on that site earlier today.
Hate to be that "ackschually" guy but you do realize that the manga is serialized in a magazine called Monthly Comic Alive that comes out every month on 27th?

isn't mangadex don't support illegal content or link? well, for not really important manga, good to know I guess? official free release is yesterday and I'm ok with that. still far from 2 months that guy claimed.

I’ll just say this. Personally, whenever a series I’m reading get sniped, I always wait and read the scanlater who has been translating up to that point.
There’s something to be said for consistency and sticking with a group of that puts in a quality effort.
Also, I love your translation, you do good work, and I hope you choose to continue this series.

"since everyone is trying to snipe this"
one chapter by one person by one hour

um... sure, look, you don't want to work on it fine, but making up dumb excuses to justify it like you have a moral high ground is a joke
100% this. "Since it seems like everyone is trying to snipe this" is some babymode tantrum throwing excuses for one 'snipe' one time.. at least wait and see if it's consistent before crying sniper. This group doesn't actually wanna do this title.

I guess we gotta have the boo-hoo sob story before they go, huh?

Since everyone keeps trying to snipe it, we decided to drop this series. 😓
@Mhmmdalfaridzi

(Preamble: Yes, this is criticism, but it's constructive criticism. Please read to the end and consider these words carefully.)

Soooo, are we missing something going on in the background? Like, are other scans groups coming over and asking politely if they can work on this title as well?

Because, if so, that's not sniping. That's being respectful. And if you're honestly so easily upset that you consider that to be other scanslators "trying to snipe"? And that when the first person to actually snipe you comes along, you immediately drop the title?

Look, I can understand it to a degree. You put in the work, and you want to be appreciated for that work. That's just human nature and there's nothing really wrong with that.

The problem comes when you rage-quit like a squeaker playing their first PvP after they got a game for Christmas.

You wanna buck the sniper? You do so by continuing on like there's not a goddamned thing wrong. You ignore them, disregard them, and let your work stand up for itself.

And even regardless of that, why would you get upset over it in the first place? From what I can tell, you're not running a website, and you're not asking for donations.

(And for me, that earns you a gold star in my book - you've been doing it for the simple love of sharing what you like, and avoiding conflict with the publisher as much as possible by not taking any money.)

And because you're not trying to get anything more than kudos for translating this title, you got no real reason to be so possessive over it. The only people you'll lose readership due to competition are the ones who don't care anyhow, and they're not the ones you're translating this title for anyhow, right?

Right.

See, that's the misconception newer scanslators have - this idea that you have exclusive rights to be the only scanslator working on a title.

Please, disabuse yourself of that notion.

That culture was born out of big scanslation groups (like Flame Scans, Galaxy Degen, UTOON, Asmodeus Scans, etc.) trying to profit off of translating titles, and they were trying to get as much money as possible by being the only group translating a specific title. As such, they bullied other groups trying to work on titles they were translating by decrying them as snipers and bullying them into submission.

In fact, the idea of trying to maintain exclusivity for the sake of making money runs completely counter to what scanslation is supposed to be: the precursor to a title being licensed, and/or the alternative to the licensed reproduction for various reasons. (Like region locking by a licensee or a licensee doing a piss-poor job of translating, or even - horror of all horrors! - intentionally warping a translation to push a political or social ideology!) You're a software/content pirate - a Robin Hood of the Internet - not a bootlegger.

And now that MD has put their foot down on the profiteering? With their stricter rules about paywalling? It's no longer an issue you should concern yourself with. No one has exclusive rights, and no one should ever even attempt to act like they have exclusive rights.

Please, do reconsider. It's only been this one person that has actually "sniped" you, and you shouldn't be taking issue with that. Especially when you have so many people asking you to keep going.

Ignore the sniper and keep on keeping on.

Before you drop the series, are you are enjoying translating this title? Because chances random snipe will not continue the series. So, if you drop this, there is a chance there will be no more translation come.

Your work is your work, there is no need for unneeded 'rivalry' or to fuss about what others do.
If you know yourself you do a good work, then let's keep things this way aye? :headpat:
Yeah that's the worst thing with sniping is that when the original person leaves then the person who's snipe will quickly drop it because they don't really care. It's a shame the manga community don't realize this as I've seen a lot of series that I've enjoyed not get translated because of sniping

Come on man, there's no need to drop this. That's exactly what the snipers want, it's why they do it.
Yeah and then when they've won they do maybe a chapter or two before repeating the same thing there are plenty of series out there that are behind the raws there are always being requested on Reddit manga and so on

Thats the worst thing about snipers a lot of the time. Shitty translation. on a series that is actively being translated.
For once can they pick a series that has not been translated for years where people are begging for any kind of translation.
That would be too much effort for them they rather pick that's already being translated and has some level of popularity steal the spotlight and try and get ahead of the standard translation even if they have to rush it with a lower quality if they get the chapter out first then is there when because the fans will go to it like addicts not caring about quality

Oh for fucks sake where were this snipers when this manga was in TL limbo??!!?!? now that an actual group is continuing it suddenly they all come out of the woodwork?
What takes me off is that there are some series that I like have not been translated in over a year and have 10 plus chapters with a dedicated fan base

Doens't release anything in two months, someone else does a chapter, magically have the chapter ready in one hour after all that time sitting on their asses, and cries about getting "sniped" and how they're gonna drop the series.

lol
lmao

Every time.
Wasn't the rest of the chapter just released so that was the soonest they could do it unless they did the .1 .2 crap

Also wants a sniper wins the only usually stay with it for two or three chapters sometimes five at most because they have no real investment and then they move on to the next snipe
