I'm curios about this too, and after looked up the raw, her name is actually "Namishiri (波尻)"
尻 is quite a common character found in surname (like Tajiri, Kawajiri) and while it usually means butt, I think it can also mean something like "tail-end" too. In her case, it'd be something like "tail end of the wave".

Pretty much all the IP/Brands in Dara-san are distorted reflections of existing IP/Brands. I don't doubt that it is based on an actual manga running in Ribbon.
