There are other better series with that (since most people here came for the monstergirlfriend experience), and more authentically Japanese since I just learned NeiTheYAGI might be a fellow Filipino, not that I disrespect the enormous research he likely had to do on both Japanese mythology and modern culture.

Are we even reading the same series?

It's not like 3/4 of the entire series was full of "soft wuzzles and family stuff" and monstergirl cake, and then the author suddenly tried turning it into a shonen manga 1/4 of the way through 🤷‍♂️

I didn't mind the dark backstories and references sprinkled here and there, but that still didn't make this an action manga.
