Wait, there are more evil gods other than the Hihiryu something? Why does this manga keep mentioning new names without much introduction?

And I think we saw the elf emperor before. But this is the first time we see that knew Van, right? How and why?
yeah... i don't remember how much of the history of Lambda was covered yet with van.
when the Demon King (DK) invaded, there were hundreds of 'Evil Gods' (EG) with him, similar to the Lambda Gods (LG), with 11 major gods and many lesser gods under each. When the war ended
  • the DK was split apart/sealed in pieces
  • the remaining still living EGs were split between:
    • those loyal to the DK, mostly on the corrupted continent
    • those who wanted to thrive and do whatever without the DK around
    • those who had changed sides and joined the LGs.
  • Most of the major LGs were dead, sealed, recovering but effectively comatose, or in 1 case, corrupted. Only Vida (Life) and Alda (Light) of the major LGs were still functional. Things in Lambda were still mostly functional because higher rank lesser gods were able to step in for the missing major LGs and maintain their element/part of the system.
  • Alda and Vida split apart over arguments about how to move forward. Alda wanted to return as much as possible to the way things were before the invasion. Vida wanted to roll with how things were and 'evolve' to deal with how bad things had gotten (< 3000 mortals left alive after the 10 years of war with the DK & EGs [and a few turncoat lower LGs]).
  • Vida, using the LGs that sided with her as well as the EGs who had changed sides during the latter parts of the war, created new races that were tougher/stronger/longer lived/etc (those created with 2 LG 'parents') than the original 3 (Human, Dwarf, Elf), as well as creating many hybrid races (those created with Vida + an EG, plus the Vampires and Ghouls [Vida + Undead Zakkart]).
  • Vida also constructed a new transmigration system, distrusting Rodicorte and his system after he semi-abandonded them to avoid & isolate the DK (who could destroy gods/souls). That made for 3 on Lambda, the Rodicorte OG one, the DK one, and Vida's. The hybrid races are especially potentially powerful because they have access to 2 systems, Vida's and the DK's, and can level independently in both.
  • Alda, and the surviving 4 heroes, who had sided with him, attacked Vida and her forces (I think it was like 100k years later) because of her transmigration system, new races and the EGs in her faction. Their existence spawned/spread monster nests where they lived, even if they were localized and could be contained from spreading further.
  • Alda was able to partially seal Vida before the war had to stop, due to too many LGs being dead and the system showing signs of getting ready to buckle without enough gods to maintain the elements. Alda had to 'steal' Life and maintain it with Vida sealed and her life gods mostly on her side.

A section of the continent where the story is taking place is where most of Vida's faction remains. That territory is where Talosheim is just within the edge of. It'll take awhile before Van pokes around enough that Vida's faction begins to notice and welcome him, beginning to wake up to Van and the rapid changes to the status quo he is causing.

Any spoiler about the elf emperor?

I'm pretty sure this is the only chapter we get about Vida and Alda. https://mangadex.org/chapter/6075d3eb-ca28-405e-ba94-36c43618280a

Honestly, I'm still confused why the Progenitor vampires are enemies to both Van/Vida factions and humans.

oh wow, it's been awhile, I forgot they actually covered the DK war in the manga. Cool.

Most of the surviving Pure-breed Vampires are within the Vida territory, sleeping or guarding Vida. These 3 turned abandoned Vida's side after she lost to Alda and chose to ally/serve Hihiryushukaka who had split from DKs remaining forces to build his own power. The only progenitor/True Ancestor vampire was the elder twin born from Vida+Undead Zakkart. He's dead or maybe sealed.

uhm, most of the stuff that involves him is way, way away. He does send a high level set of 'assassins' after Van, but that's a ways off still. And then gets... deposed IIRC... by a new High Priest of Alda after antagonizing Van doesn't go well for Mirg & his nation (plus he's basically undercutting Alda/the priesthood's authority, since he doesn't really care about Alda's opinions in how he should govern).

About the elf emperor, who exactly is he? Why does he know about Van in this chapter?

He's good at his job, ie. running a nation.

He is a hyper pragmatic individual who uses anything and everything to maintain Amid as an Empire. Even the Bellwood in his name is just to hammer in his legitimacy, he doesn't really care about his lineage. He is not actually racist against other races like we are shown around the Empire and Vassal States. They're just a very convenient scapegoat to channel any public animosity away from the ruling class. He has a competent spy network in place for every nation, and a special assassin squad to quietly erase disenters. He also knows that Alda does not care about the people who worship him beyond the faith they provide, so sacrificing his believers to achieve his goals is only natural so long as enough are left to start over again. This is why Marshukarl actively holds back the religious authority in place, despite Amid being the center of Alda's extremist faction. He actually wants to recruit Vandalieu into his inner circle since he recognises the power he commands, though he is unaware that Van himself is an actual powerhouse.

To add onto this the emperor wasn't specifically following Van since he was a baby at the time, he was monitoring the 5 Colored blades since they were rising hero's and then Van actions or the wake of incidence he leaves behind drew attention. More importantly his very stand out appearance, "A waxy skin dampire with a monotone voice, that lacks facial emotions and has Heterochromia" really doesn't help Van avoid standing out lol.
