Yeah, kinda... But I was kind of realizing something else... Did you ever stop to think that it is weird that a protagonist has a move called "Spirit Bomb"? If we forget that the protagonists of DBZ used it, "Spirit Bomb" sounds a lot more like a villain move than a hero move.
"We have five minutes to figure out this riddle or else the Spirit Bomb will detonate and destroy the whole planet!"
Or perhaps a necromancer is doing something with ghosts and makes a "spirit bomb".

They simultaneously made the MC so strong early on that you can't ever expect him to be in trouble and have done very little groundwork for expectations from 600 years of refining magic to know what's reasonable or what to expect from these two clashing. The MC is the MC so he will win and whatever means he uses can be justified because we know little about how hax his abilities are.

There can be some degree of stakes with the other characters but MC is just a deus ex machina at all points before this, lol.

I know they're gonna kiss and make up after anyway.
