Like one chapter Maria-sensei was all angst drama because she couldn't be together but wanted to and then she is pushing another girl to the playground I mean...
It felt like a filler chapter but there is no information if it was so....What is even going on!?

from the start until like 15 chapters ago
each new chapter since the beach house has been making it more and more clear that it's doomed poly

heck, even just looking at the cover art has it made clear. volume 7 just released with all 6 girls on the cover. if it was gonna be a poly end, that would be the final cover
the first 6 covers were each character being featured
with rumors this is ending soon here, the final volume count would be 8. and the last cover is probly gonna be high school crush alone, or Mei with high school crush

that said while poly would now be a cop out, I don't think we can get an ending that's not a cop out anymore

• poly? cops out of the final trajectory of the series
• single? cops out of the entire premise of the series
• high school crush? cops out of actually developing chemistry of the endgame victor
• Maria? cops out of being interesting (it would have to end on a timeskip where Mei just somehow managed to luck into being faithful for 3 more years lmao)
• the other 3 rejects? cops out of the emotional damage of having to see them make their resolutions

at this point the only ending that won't feel like a cop out will be Riri and that's just gonna feel weird for other reasons. and that's contingent in how this date plays out
but also that will just put us in "first girl wins" trope and I doubt we all wanna retread that ground again

p.s. yes I know Maria is the favored of the forums. we all want mommy to step on us, and we're all using Mei as an audience surrogate to get that. but she plays just like any other teacher romance story that we've read 20 times

not only is it not making any empty promisses and says what it is exactly in it's title, but it also delivers.
it just delivers, all the time, every single time, and it keeps it coming.
at least i can see Maria getting all the girls, i'm 100% supporting her conquest.
