I know people still bitch about generative AI and are either reluctant to use (or pretending to be in public) but it's a tool too good to not use, for example for cases like this.

Some media platforms are absolutely draconian with censorship. Laws are made by octogenarians who understand nothing about the world. I expect this so don't get worked up, if I wanted something to get off on I'd go read an actual hentai instead of this romcom.

I like how he called out that she is greedy for attention, she doesn't really hide that I don't think either. At least in her inner monologue she doesn't repress her own bad qualities. The people who ignore their own faults are the most likely to project them onto others, something you can see every day.

The entire impact of the "lost top" sequence was ruined by the earlier censorship of her swimsuit. It took me several seconds to realize what had actually happened, because I initially just assumed that this was the same sort of the censor block making her looking naked despite her not actually being naked. So while I did eventually realize that she was meant to have her bare chest on display, that was only after I reasoned that out myself, which obviously would take away from the "wham" moment that the scene was meant to have.

Like, I'm not the kind of person that reads manga for the suggestive and erotic moments, so I generally don't have a problem with a certain extent of censorship of this stuff. But at this point the censorship is literally ruining the manga. It takes scenes that are meant to be normal and makes them uncomfortable and takes scenes that are meant to have impact and makes them fall flat.

I know that sometimes people talk about erotic scenes being censored like people are throwing oil at the Mona Lisa and its common for people to over-value these sorts of scenes and over-complain about censorship of them, leading to arguments about "art censorship" that are hard to take seriously. But this is seriously really horrible, and this censorship really is ruining the "art" (in the "this is objectively a piece of art, regardless of quality" sense) of this series.

And it's also like everyone's fault! The publishers shouldn't impose this shitty censorship rule, the adaptation's author should have written the manga better so as to avoid images and framings that would be this negatively impacted by the censorship, the original author shouldn't have agreed to let this publisher adapt their work, as they obviously knew what sort of novel they were writing, and the readers shouldn't support this by buying the volumes just so that they can see the uncensored images!
