I'm going to cut Kusunoki alot of slack as she actually made some progress. She acknowledged her feelings and hasn't completed rejected them. I view this as a W on her part.

Alot of people are giving her flack especially in this chapter but we've gotta realize, she's found herself in the exact same situation she was accused of in the past, mind you the same situation where she lost her 2 "best friends". Obviously she's not gonna be too thrilled about this. In addition, the author has made it clear she has had 0 prior experience in the field of love. Not everyone is gonna be as straightforward about it. Alot of newbies are very hesitant about confessing their feelings, hell even acknowledging them. She has done that.

People saying that 'it's her first love' like it's an excuse doesn't mean much, when it's nearly all of their first love. It's not like Kusunoki is plopped right in the middle of a club where everyone is like 7+ years her senior. She has issues and baggage like most of the others around her.

Now I'm not saying that she should make progress, as I'm actually fine with this. However I disagree with others who think that people shouldn't complain just because 'she has 0 experience with romance' or something. We could literally have 800 chapters where only one year passes in the series and that same 'logic' would still apply to explain why no progress had been made.
