The MC started being super distant, Wouldnt even have sex with her anymore, then she saw him and another girl kissing, 99% of the time that is someone legitimately cheating.

Also don't forget the new FMC also was giving up her body for money by the 'tickle' guy. Both girls are kinda dumb and go with the flow in the moment.

I don't think most people want sakura to suffer but show some sign that she regrets what happened and to be fair fumi kissed shinobu shinobu didn't kiss fumi it wasn't something he wanted nor asked for.

I think untill we see actual closure or progress with their side characters, it's on a fence

No that's what shinobu did with sakura after the director arch it was in the title of the chapter so it's used mostly as a tongue in cheek joke. But yes fumi I about to make shinobu forget who Sakura is.

Well to be fair, she wasn't as haunted about the scenario like Sakura was because it didn't go as far and Sakura was Already dating Shinobu at this time.

Besides, since then, Fumi seems to have learned her lesson after that with how she cried as she realized what she did. Not only this, but I recall a comment that since then, when Fumi talked to others in regards to the movie or something Shinobu was there with her as she didn't want to do it alone to avoid that mistake again.

If it was real life I get it. But this is just a story. We can have our views of Sakura and other characters but if the only argument is "well she cheated" and nothing more to add onto it and be more mean than needed it kinda loses my interest.

What if the two scenes, ML and Ex, aren't happening concurrently? So just as the ML is about to engage with Fumi, he gets a phone call. And he decides to answer. So this whole chapter is basically the equivalent of bait.
