I think the author will drop the "twist" that while the dad did date his mom, he wasn't the biological father, making him adopted (but then who was the real dad? who knows)

But then it would not be realistic as they are after all kids, and not adults. You are more than free to go and write your own story if you feel that you know better than original author.

And if you are getting so infuriated with this manga that you start to swear on forum replies then maybe you should just drop it and leave the people who actually enjoy it to... enjoy it. It was just a close up in her name (Tanemori Yuzu) and "watashi ha". Watashi is more popular with women than men. But of the pronouns available to both genders, Watashi is the more formal one, likely used by businessmen and officials. That being said, it is still a very common pronoun.
