Cattleya was extra underhanded in this fight against Kagura, she seems to perceive her as much more of a threat than those villains she previously disposed off.

I kind of doubt Kagura is gone, maybe just a damsel (a soul without body) in distress waiting for Raito to save her.

Cattleya is making less and less sense. "Humanity will always bring forth oppression, let's just reduce all humans to animals, that will solve the problem".

Who will be the third vessel? The merc samurai granny or one of Kagura's relatives or someone not yet introduced?

If human is someone who got defective aramitama and you can actually fix it and make human into ningyou, why not just.... turn everyone into human?
Cause humans are evil :v

It makes perfect sense cause her misanthrope and insane logic wants to get rid the world of humanity evil, that's the only problem she wants to solve

It's like with Thanos in the MCU, we know their plan is nonsensical but it fits with their own internal insane logic

By her own beliefs it all makes perfect sense

Cattleya kills Kagura to absorb the fragment, what if she also absorbed Kagura? Maybe Kagura will use Cattleya own power to come back :thonk:

There's not a lot of ways for this to go really, either Cattleya power sends everyone to another dimension and Kagura escapes, Kagura own power awakens and she survives or she somehow lives within Cattleya after being absorbed

This might be the most retarded comment section I've ever seen, thinking this is somehow the ending with the main character dead right now.

Reminds me of another manga that killed the protagonist and she's definitely totally not coming back in a chapter or two, that one was more believable than thinking Kagura will really die lol

Ayo, so what's the point? You've got such an absurdly overpowered antagonistic character with an ability that makes them into an untouchable monster that can kill with a look or a touch that also has flight and instant teleportation/extreme speed. No one can hold a candle to her.. any fight she's in is basically a no diff shit stomp.

Well, considering the pacing of the past few chapters and the more than likely oncoming axe, I can only see the story ending in 2, maybe 3 ways:
  1. Cattleya wins; she goes to the Land of the Rising Sun, gets the last Vessel soul, and creates the new chaotic world she apparently wants so much.
  2. Raito (or whoever else) crashes out so hard he actually manages to defeat Cattleya. He uses the Vessel's power to reform the world in whatever way he finds fitting (and potentially revives Kagura, but it would be pretty bittersweet if she stayed dead).
  3. Alternatively, the samurai Cattleya runs into in the Land of the Rising Sun kill her, or things don't turn out the way she thinks with the Vessel. Or maybe Kaguya pulls a Sukuna-tier asspull and comes back with the power to defeat Cattleya, anything goes at this point.
When I first saw the raws of this chapter, I thought of the first two immediately, but after reading the translated chapter, I'm seriously considering the Kaguya asspull ending, but really, who knows. Either way, it's pretty certain this story has gotten the axe, because ain't no way things are being this rushed for no reason :(
4. she and the final vessel both die, kagura revives as the full vessel

Yeah, her objective makes perfect sense given her motives, as would just killing off every human and ninyou in existence. People thinking "why not make everyone into humans or into youma-free ninyous?" ought to remember that cattleya hates what she percieves to be human nature in a machiavelic light. We currently live in the world without youma and without ninyou and i'm pretty sure Cattleya would despise it equally.
Making every human into a ticking time-bomb kinda forces cooperation through a higher threat. It's kinda like the demon king or alien invasion trope in which all nations make an treaty to fight off an external threat. But with everyone possibly becoming a reality warping youma, either everyone has to be treated kinda equally or extincion-causing youmas will eventually appear everywhere.
Not that that would be any solution for a better world, i wouldn't even say i think she's trying to make a better world, only a world in which people have to cooperate or not exist at all, she's very much a villain working on extremist ideas because of hatred, but it does make sense for her character.

I don't think she wants to force them to cooperate, I think she'll literally right away turn everyone into youma, no time bomb, no more evil cause now they're all pure and innocent

She's like those villains who hate free will due to the capacity of commiting evil and how common it is for people to choose to be evil in some way, so for them the only way to make the world better is by removing free will altogether

If she wins I don't think there would be anyone left, only youma

Average SMT chaos rep be like
See, this is why we just need to go the neutral route.
Get in the giant armored vehicle and drill our way out of the Schwarzwelt and stick it to both sides

On a more relevant note, I continue to be confused on Cattelya's actions, and what exactly her power is.
Is she jumping between different probable timelines, how does that make people turn into butterflies?

Her power is whatever she wants it to be because reasons. Or, as I put it earlier
her power is basically a child going "Nuh-uh, that doesn't work" and "I just kill you faster than light" and making it real.

Cattleya's solution is to instantly turn every sentient being into a youma, because they just are what they are. She prefers all life live animalistically, rather than having the capacity for good or evil.

It isn't to cure all youma, not to remove youmafication, not to restore all human arimatama, not to make everyone human, not to give everyone gradual youmafication. But to end sentience entirely, to purge free will and the ability to choose conflict and evil, even if that means good ceases to be a concept at all.

Right now, it's left vague and undefined so it's not obvious how she'll be defeated. It's kinda like 'How strong is Freeza exactly? / How many forms does he even have?' You won't know until it's time for him to be defeated at full power.
