I hope it doesn't escalate into a major school incident like in Jinsei Gyakuten because if the cheaters end up regretting, it would look more like they only did because their life got ruined and less because they lost someone important to them. It'd be more satisfying if the feeling of regret is gradually built up to the peak rather than developed instantly e.g. Kayo discovering she's pregnant or something after getting ditched and realizing she can only turn to MC for help and voluntarily expose herself but gets turned down etc.

Pretty sure this won't off the rails like like Jinsei Gyakuten. While things are played off for laughs, everyone and everything has been realistic so far. A huge contrast to Jinsei Gyakuten where everything goes straight to 11 from the very beginning. And if spoilers are any indication, everything will go up to 100 soon.

As for Kayo: she cheated for the same reason Miyuki cheated in Jinsei Gyakuten -- she's spoiled and too used to MC being there that she took him for granted. She wanted to know what it was like to bang a fukboi, liked the feeling, couldn't stop. Kayo still totally loves and intends to spend the rest of her life with MC, but she couldn't resist temptation.

As I said in another comment above: this manga is leaning towards realism compared to Jinsei Gyakuten.

One of the reasons Iketani cheated is Kotone refused to have sex with him. Having his girl stolen from him by MC and her actually wanting to have sex with MC is a stisfying enough punishment. Iketani also having to deal with raising a child is icing on cake.

Kayo is just spoiled and immature. She made some really bad decisions but she is not inherently a bad person. She fucked Iketani before she ever dated MC, so Iketani was first. It's just that she could never forget the feeling and was encouraged by her shitty teammates in her basketball team.
