...which is probably why there's so much NTR slop variants of it. Seriously. There's probably more doujins of that genre than any other - at least for SAO. Probably even more of those for FATE. Something about Humans and their tendency to corrupt wholesome things.
Both have more NTR variants than they need to, but FATE is huge, I believe it has like at least double of what you imagine the SAO count is at if not triple, advantage of having a way bigger cast and being around for so much longer. There sometimes is a weird corruption urge when you see something wholesome, normal well adjusted people would leave it at that... unless you're an NTR creator making a living, gdi KA fix yo shit.

Can verify.
For I am a FATE fan as it's my favorite franchise.

I'll never forget how my innocence for the series was taken. Browsing netflix and seeing Fate/Zero, thinking it was boring looking. But went "fuck it" and watched it. Absolute cinema.

Then I learned it's a prequel to a visual novel. I was like "neat!" So I went to get the visual novel to read it. Having a blast! And then..

"Yea you didn't know? Poor magus sell their magical sperm" wot?

"You should be grateful that saber is a woman" HUH?

WHY IS RIN KISSING AND TOUCHING SABER? WHATS A MANA TRANSFER??

To think such a cool prequel was for an eroge.

I don't regret my investment, the series is great lol

The unseen Visual Novel adaptations are the deadliest. In Fates' defense their uh H scenes are top tier meme material for how badly written it is compared to the rest of the writing and they quickly buried their eroge roots when they struck gold.

"Tohsaka's Anus"

It's just funny how the only reason they included sex scenes was to sell. Like you said, once they got popular they dropped that shit real quick but I'll never forget the lewd scenes of stay night and ESPECIALLY Hollow Ataraxia.

LMFAO. Truuueee. I mean I doubt there's that much of a science behind writing H scenes but boy were the FATE writers extra bad at it, glad they made it big early on and knew what they wanted to do though. Leave the H scenes to the ones who know what they're doing.

Oh that reminds me, time to binge that one. HSR got their Fate collab round 2 doing on now too, but uh treat that one more as a comedic spinoff and don't expect it to be too lore accurate.

I do not think the final two chapters will have enough room to force a reunion between Shinobu and Sakura. More likely, the story will conclude by showing the three main characters making their own choices: Shinobu completes his work, Fumi faces her feelings, and Sakura leaves Nakanishi and begins searching for herself again.

Penultimate Chapter: Each Person Makes a Choice

1. Sakura Finally Leaves Nakanishi

The clearest turning point in this chapter is that Nakanishi is not merely rejecting the bed-scene role. He is also rejecting Sakura’s entire past.

He says that gravure idols are vulgar, even though Sakura herself built her career through gravure work. What he is effectively telling her is:

When Sakura calls him selfish, she is probably not referring only to this particular job. She is finally realizing that Nakanishi has never truly respected what she wants to become. He only wants to shape her into the kind of woman he prefers.

When Rei tells her, “You already know the answer,” that answer probably has two meanings:

  • Sakura should accept the role and return to acting through her own choice.
  • What she misses may not simply be Shinobu himself, but the version of herself who had direction and motivation while working beside him.
Therefore, the penultimate chapter will probably show Sakura returning to collect her belongings, officially ending her relationship with Nakanishi, and deciding to accept the television drama role.

2. Fumi Agrees to the Bed Scene, but Shinobu Changes the Script

Fumi says she is willing to perform the scene because she wants to help Shinobu. It is touching, but it also contains a danger: she may once again be treating her own body and feelings as tools for supporting Shinobu’s success.

Shinobu tells her, “You are not an actress. You do not need to go that far.” This creates a strong contrast between him and Nakanishi:

  • Nakanishi stops Sakura because of his desire to control her and impose his own values.
  • Shinobu tries to stop Fumi because he does not want to exploit her.
When Fumi asks, “Would you say the same thing if Sakura were still here?” what she is really asking is:

Shinobu may not be able to answer immediately, but he will probably revise the script afterward. The intimate scene may remain, but the unnecessary nudity intended purely to increase sales will likely be removed. Instead, it will become a scene that better serves the characters and the story.

This would also prove that Shinobu is no longer simply creating a commercial product for the producer. He is becoming a genuine creator who can protect both his work and the person performing in it.

3. The Building Shinobu Is Looking At Will Be the Final Meeting Point

The final image of Shinobu staring at a building is probably significant. The building may be:

  • The film production company;
  • An audition or filming location;
  • Sakura’s agency, or the agency she is about to join;
  • A place connected to the time when Shinobu and Sakura worked together.
The penultimate chapter may end with Shinobu and Sakura meeting near the building. Another possibility is that Shinobu sees Sakura arriving for an audition, but they do not speak yet.

Final Chapter: Reconciliation, Not Reunion

Shinobu and Sakura Will Have One Brief Conversation

With only two chapters remaining, it is impossible to fully resolve Sakura’s affair, her decision to leave, Nakanishi’s involvement, her friends insulting Shinobu, and all the pain that accumulated between them.

Therefore, the author is unlikely to completely redeem Sakura. Instead, Sakura will probably admit that:

  • She ran away from the situation.
  • She took Shinobu’s support for granted.
  • Only after leaving him did she understand that he had given her more than work—he had given her direction and trust.
  • She has no right to ask Shinobu to return to her.
Sakura may apologize, while Shinobu tells her that he genuinely wanted them to continue moving forward together, but that they can no longer return to the past.

This would give Sakura at least a minimal moment of self-reflection without forcing Shinobu to suddenly forgive everything and reunite with her.

Shinobu Chooses Fumi, Though He May Not Confess Directly

Fumi’s question will finally receive an answer. Shinobu may tell her:

The important point is not whether Fumi is better than Sakura. It is that Shinobu finally sees Fumi as an individual, rather than as a substitute filling the space Sakura left behind.

There are two likely possibilities afterward:

  1. Shinobu directly tells Fumi that he wants them to remain together even after the film is completed.
  2. He does not formally confess, but the two continue working side by side, and their everyday intimacy makes it clear that they have become a couple.
Considering the recent developments, I think the first possibility is more likely. The story has already shown them sleeping together and living almost like a couple while creating the script. There is little reason to keep their relationship ambiguous now.

Sakura’s Ending Will Be Her Returning to the Camera

Sakura will probably accept the television role that includes a bed scene. However, the point will not be that she is once again selling her body. The point will be that she is finally choosing for herself what kind of role she wants to perform.

She may tell Rei:

This would complete Sakura’s character arc:

  • In the past, she relied on Shinobu to give her direction.
  • Later, she allowed Nakanishi to lead her.
  • In the end, she must learn to choose her own path.
She may not receive a perfectly happy ending, but she will at least leave Nakanishi and begin accepting responsibility for her own decisions.

My Prediction for the Final Scene

The most likely final scene is the beginning of production on the film written or directed by Shinobu and starring Fumi.

Shinobu stands behind the camera, while Fumi stands in front of it. They look directly at each other, echoing the earlier intimate scene in which they truly saw and responded to one another.

Meanwhile, Sakura may be filming her own television drama in another studio. Another possibility is that she sees a poster or advertisement for Shinobu and Fumi’s film on a street display. She smiles with regret but also acceptance, then walks toward her own filming location.

The final narration may be something like:

Probability of Each Outcome

My current prediction is:

  • Sakura breaks up with Nakanishi: 90%
  • Sakura returns to acting: 90%
  • Shinobu and Sakura meet and reconcile: 70%
  • Shinobu and Sakura reunite romantically: Less than 10%
  • Shinobu and Fumi officially become a couple: 80%
  • Fumi actually performs an explicit nude bed scene: 40%
  • Shinobu revises the script or refuses to use nudity merely for promotion: 70%
The key point is that this chapter deliberately places Shinobu and Nakanishi in parallel situations. Both men are confronted with a woman being asked to perform a bed scene.

However, Shinobu is concerned about whether Fumi will be hurt, while Nakanishi is concerned about whether Sakura fits his personal values.

The author will probably use this contrast to make a final judgment about which man genuinely respects the woman beside him.
Makes sense, gives some closure, the story ends on a good, albeit bittersweet, note. Shows some growth all around,
Therefore it's not going to happen.
