Very much enjoying this series. Something about a person just giving their all to one thing, to the point that they become an inspiration for others, is very compelling for a story. Making Uonuma such a GirlFailure in every other aspect of her life, carried hard by her childhood friend, sells it that much more. Because it's 100% built off the effort of her determination and the sheer time dedicated to its pursuit...and it's inspiring.
And all these chapters that seem to be built upon the perspectives of those around her, rather than just following her along directly, is a neat narrative choice. We see Uonuma through the lens & eyes of her peers and those who exist in the world around her, and thus the story is just as much about how they are inspired by the single-mindedness she embodies. It would be easy to turn her into a force of nature, or deify her, but that same GirlFailure facet of her character and the earnestness with which she takes on baseball keep it all grounded, and make her relatable to both those other characters and to us. Which is a fine balance to maintain, but it's held up thus far in great fashion.

Yes, I’m not really into sports manga either, but the artstyle, the childhood friends dynamic (and other aspects) sold it for me. I think when people will discovers this, it will definitely get more traction, so i just hope that this team will continue to translate this.

I do believe this is the first time I read a manga where the goal was to actually win the Koshien and not just get there

That reminds me of how much I love this type of narrative, despite rarely seeing it being made.

Spoiler: Another fantasy webtoon series about a toymaker MC helping fathers with their children

It honestly makes me remember of a series called ''The Business is Closed due to the Tyrannical Fathers''. The series is mostly simple comedy with a few points of angsty. We see the MC as a normal girl with a familiar who helps and saves her from dangerous things. But for A SINGLE PANEL in a RANDOM CHAPTER, we get the outside perspective of the MC. She's described as ''The one mysterious person capable of entering the dark forest'' with the panel highlighting her back with dark tones around. She's describe as a some sort of mythical person. At that moment, my mind said ''oh''. For a brief moment my mind got flooded with dopamine and wonders about ''how interesting would this series be if we had the other's perspective instead of following the MC all the time.
