@SS-2010 There's an odd TL difference between the "Official" 134 TL, compared to the reddit one. One on reddit has Sakura calling fucboi "Yuma-san" vs the one posted on this site dropping the honorific, weird. Depending on how you look at it this is usually dismissed as not a big detail, but in this case I feel like it is. I've gone over the raw JP and Sakura does indeed call him Yuma-san with the honorific and everything (suggesting a bit more distance in their relationship) so interesting choice by the official TL to just drop honorifics like that, but I guess its not too rare.

Shinobu is 5 years older than Sakura (21 years old as Fumi) so he'll always been called "san" even after marriage. But I don't think the fucboy is as old as Shinobu. I think he's the same age as Sakura and the blond.

So, if Sakura and fucboy are close friends or dating, Sakura must not call him "san" as you can see in the other romcom manga. When you calling someone the same age or same social status as you using "san", it means you're not close to the person. Using "san" remind yourself how you look at the person and there is still a gap in your friendships.

You can call your new friends "san" but when you're close to them, they'll ask you to stop using "san" with them anymore, right? LOL

If Sakura call the fucboy "san" in front of him, I'm glad for you @diphuc1 , the author intended to show us they're not dating. LOL

NOTE : Shinobu called "Fumi-san" since they start working. So, "san" is also use with colleagues to show respect. If Shinobu become a couple with Fumi, he must call her Fumi-chan like he called Sakura-chan.

Thanks for the reassurance, I won't buy into it too hard, because I'm already OD'ed a few times over on cope and trying to strike a balance atp. Just a funny detail that I noticed when comparing the TL and reading the raws again and the raw JP did in fact have "-san" tacked onto the one time Sakura used it during their conversation.

As for how Shinobu is referring to Fumi, after 133 at least, he is now using "-chan" for her during their conversation after Shinobu met with the producer. I'm too lazy to re-read the raws for this one because it took me long enough to identify "-san" lol. Shinobu and Fumi are least for sure closer than fucboi and Sakura.

Agreed, the official TL seems to drop honorifics here and there. One of the "Fumi-chan" was just changed into a "you", and while it still works the nuance shifts a little bit that for some things it can matter a bit more than you'd think.

Yep! It's pretty clear no contest at this point that the ShiFumi relationship is a lot better than fucboiXSakura from what we can see which is a win, but in this chapter Fumi still did raise that red flag by bringing up Shinobu's ex to wrap up that conversation at the end.
