I’m more interested in the claim that people were licking the posters. Do you have any reliable sources for that which aren’t memes, reposts, or a pixelated video with no verifiable context? So far, I can’t find anything credible connecting the censorship to poster licking.

Now that is a good question. I actually have the reason. The Japanese government took down everything related to it. Because "it shows Japanese culture in a bad light". I used to find thousands of videos of people in Japan lick posters. But magically a year ago it all disappeared. Like big te c deleted all the evidence because the Japanese government sued them for harassment. When all it was. Was journalism. There is a massive delete of old videos and articles going on right now. Because I can't find a lot of things I found a year ago. 🤔
