Haven't read those yet as they are still paywalled, but yeah, titles end to be a bit of a spoiler there.
Mafuyu has a lack of stamina currently, but even so, is still equal to upper-tier guild members. It is only when compared to the nation-toppling monster class that she seems lacking.
See also the (later) scene where a world-renowned assassin is cough handled by her.

In a different timeline and plot, Mafuyu is easily the scheming and hypercompetent second-in-command that runs the strings of the empire and manipulates everything around them for the sake of their ruler; they like the shadows and have no interest in usurping the throne.

But none of that is in here (maybe because I haven't read the LNs) so I really do want the two to just enjoy themselves and not get punted headfirst into adulthood.

Hmmm. In the WebNovel, they are Karlin Yamada and Sasaki Maifu - as opposed to Karin and Mafuyu here.

Supporter? It isn't detailed in the last few chapters, but implied that Mafuyu basically set up Karin's streaming for her.

(I suspect also that the "lottery" Karin got her camera from was a farce, and Mafuyu bought it for her)

Social safety net has failed here. Karin was basically abandoned after her entire direct family were killed, and has had to rebuild her life around Dungeon Alive!

Ironically, Mafuyu is rebuilding HER life around someone who rebuilt her life around Dungeon Alive!

The Public Security Bureau is a "black ops" branch of the government. To counter the growing strength of dungeon-trained opponents, the government selected orphans, training them in government-controlled dungeons, with a focus on covert investigation and assassination.

Mafuyu was the leading product of this programme, but during dungeon training, she encountered an Irregular monster and took significant (and permanent) damage. As such, she "retired" and decided to attend public school (of course, you can never really retire from a black ops group, but she was moved to inactive/reserve)

so yeah, that's her "family circumstances"
