Snake is going to destroy Otobe and Kusunoki's firendship distracting them both while she steals the MC. This is the ultimate NTR and the untilmate betrayal. I know you wiredos WANT this to happen but Hebikawa doesn't actually LIKE the MC. She is the ROOT of MC's trauma and she will reignite it once she leaves him. MC will have no one to fall back on and Kusunoki will be alone with NO friends, FLUNKING like the title states.
If the roles were reversed, Snake, Otobe, Kusunoki being male while MC being a female, you guys would HATE the snake calling it NTR. But since its girls fighting over men y'all don't seem to see it that way and you guys instead find the snake intriguing and fun. I honestly can't tell if this community supports the villain or supports Kusunoki while showcasing admiration toward the villain.
What NTR? Kusunoki constantly friendzones the MC, and she does it in this chapter too. Moe has a crush on the MC, but she currently keeps it a secret from him.

Nobody is in a relationship in this manga right now. It’s just crushes and denials. Where is the NTR?

Hebikawa is not as shackled to a preconceived expectation of a character like the other two. The author can take risks with her, and that ultimately makes her a more interesting character overall, and puts her in a role to move the plot forward.
Well put! You do get it!
Other characters being less interesting isn't caused by a lack of writing ability. It is ultimately caused by the fanbase wanting the other characters to fit in a mold. The FML and Tomboy are required to fit in this ideal versions of their archetype.
This, on the other hand, is nonsense. Nobody (outside of a few nutjobs) asks for Kusunoki or Moe to neatly fit into their respective archetypes. If anything, the opposite is true. The author polled her own readership on X for their favorites and found, to her own surprise, that the vast majority of comments named Hebikawa.

I don't think the author has a lack of writing ability, mind you. Creating just one character as compelling as Hebikawa is an accomplishment. There are so many milquetoast dime-a-dozen romcoms out there that don't even manage that much.

You don't have to like her as a person, or think she should win, to like what she brings to the story.

My guy you literally have a Mahiru pfp. Nobody is going to believe you are not vanilla as fuck.

i think you should learn to read before you insult someone, hiding behind a limited filter on your account and talking smack? A coward is what you are.

Also I find it hilarious the level of mental gymnastics the Snake defense force go through to justify her actions
They're fast becoming one of the most insufferable fanbases on this site tbh. I rarely ever check the threads for this series any more unless there's a huge number of comments, cos 90% of it is just gonna be the same retards incessantly spamming the same shit.

Well if nothing else, Hebikawa is kinda forcing the other girls to acknowledge their feelings. I'm still assuming she is just trying to cause chaos, but maybe MC's offer of support can be a start of her not being a shitty person. Either way, she is a fun character. Maybe we can get some more focus on the others again as its been a bit of a snek arc.

You are sitting here for hours defending a fictional character. How is what you are doing any better than what I am doing? Any insult you decide to flail towards me is just a reflection of your own self. You are sitting here defending a fictional character because someone decided to say that they don't like her as a character. Someone who even said they like her contribution to the story mind you. If what I am doing is a sign of mental illness what does that say about you?

I simply like having dialog, and discourse about things I like and things I don't like. You are the one trying to diagnose me with some form of mental illness because I said a joke to someone completely separate from you.

She is not real bro. You don't have to go to such lengths to defend a character that will never exist in the real world. You are the one who decided to get personal. You are the one who decided to flail insults at someone else. You are the one who is taking this too seriously. If you can't handle discourse about a controversial character without trying to make it personal don't participate.
Attacking a fictional character and the people who are having fun reading the fictional story is far more insane than what I’ve been doing, of course I know that I’m also an idiot to continue this conversation but still better than you.

Kusonoki's character has became really bland. I think that those chapters where she choose friendship over her romantic interest for so long were an error. For me, at least, it made her interest in MC look really weak. I know that she is the FMC and she will most certainly end with MC, but I feel the author will need to lift her character up a lot for it to feel like a good conclusion.

Have you never seen the discourse in the japanese community? If a mangaka writes something or someone the way those fans don't want them to they will literally send death threats to the mangaka. Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (the writer of Evangelion) literally said in an interview. The death threats got so bad he considered taking his own life, but decided not to because he was scared it would hurt too much. Manga fans are crazy, and audience capture is a real thing.

Yes there is nothing insane about trying to diagnose someone with a mental illness for expression their opinions on a character in fiction. There is nothing insane about liking a character so much you are willing to personally attack someone because they expressed, and rationalized their opinions. Whatever you have to tell yourself.

Ahh yes someone pointing out inconsistencies with someone else's tastes is much worse than trying to diagnose someone with a mental illness. It's funny how the rules get brought up when it is convenient for you, but you don't bring up the rules for those insulting the person who is expressing the same opinion you have. Crazy double standards.

NTR is 寝取られ
Meaning to sleep and steal from the subject.

NTR has no romantic relationship requirement. It is used to express the idea of taking someone dear to the subject. Be it a close friend, or a girlfriend/boyfriend. A romantic relationship is not required for there to be NTR.

I agree tho this is not NTR people (including you) just need to learn what terms mean before commenting.

That's a strawman, and not a subtle one. No one equated calling out your insult with "diagnosing a mental illness." You invented that comparison because the actual comment doesn't hold up, so you're arguing against a position I never took instead of the one I did.

"Double standards" isn't an argument, it's an accusation, and accusations need evidence. Name the insult that supposedly went unpunished, or retract the claim. Right now it's unsupported, and unsupported claims exist to discredit, not to inform.

Here's what actually happened, plainly: you posted a comment implying something about someone's character based on their pfp, I cited the rule against personal attacks, and rather than address that, you deflected twice, once with a false equivalence, once with an unproven hypocrisy claim. Neither engages with the substance. Both avoid it.

And this isn't isolated. You've made a habit of going after anyone in this thread who admits to liking the antagonist, framing a character preference as some kind of moral failing worth mocking or psychoanalyzing. That's not discussion, that's a pattern of picking fights with anyone whose opinion differs from yours, and then hiding behind "I'm just pointing out inconsistencies" when someone calls it what it is.

If you think the original comment wasn't a personal attack, argue that. Sarcasm and misdirection aren't a defense, they're an admission you don't have one.

Man, you've got some nerve acting like the victim here. You've been the one throwing insults at literally everyone who doesn't hate this character as much as you do - you jumped on me out of nowhere for liking a chapter, you told Darklight99 he probably didn't even read it, you compared people to serial killers not once but twice, and when he finally got fed up with you, you called him mentally handicapped. Twice. And now you want to play innocent and act like you're the calm one just "having a discussion"?

You're not debating, you're picking fights and then acting shocked when people fight back. That's such a weak, cowardly move , dish it out for pages and pages and then cry foul the second someone gives it back to you. If you can't handle people being as blunt with you as you are with them, maybe don't spend your whole day insulting strangers over a manga character.

Grow up. Nobody's buying the "I'm just here for discourse" act after everything you've said in this thread.

Id suggest everyone else to just report, block and move on.

For the record, I love snek because she resembles my favourite character from the Light Novel "how to melt the ice queen's heart" which was discontinued after volume 2, which shared similarity with Mahiru from "Otonari no Tenshi" (which you insulted me for)

So to see a character like Snek having an uncanny resemblance to my favourite character from my discontinued Light Novel is my right. So ill continue to support her with my own favouritism and love.

Block and reported ✨️
