Rei beat kuma, rei is really on a roll. The way Rei is playing, he might even be able to beat Dobashi next. This series is unmatched when it comes to fluff and sweat moments, I love the moments of peace Rei and Hina bring to each other. I hope we gets to see Rei bring the kawamotos to his family grave, introducing both his families to each other.

I love that Rei is able to look back now without being instantly consumed by the trauma of his family's death. Moving through memories and considering them like he's moving shogi pieces on the board. Now that's personal growth.
Legit brought tears to my eyes, he feels safe enough to begin to heal and process his grief, and introduce his found family to his birth family.

I love this series so much for how tenderly it treats his grief and the character's pains.

This subtle dialog really make me confused a bit at first. I didn't know if kiriyama win until the end. Seinen manga really hard to understand sometimes huh
It's been brought up a couple times that the winners are often more frazzled and exhausted than the losers, since they're frantically running their brains at top speed until the very end while the loser tends to calm down as they have to announce their loss.

A touching chapter from Umino-sensei, as per usual.
There's so much to love from this chapter. I used to dry my girlfriend's hair with towel and give her a shoulder rub, and it's one of my favorite tender memory of our relationship so this chapter touched me so much in particular.

why do I feel like we're approaching the end... There can't be more than 100 or so chapters left in this series..
Realistically Rei will beat Dobashi and face Souya and that will be the climax. Win or lose it doesn’t matter. Facing Souya again is probably the last match of the manga imo. This will solidify Rei’s development. We’ll probably get some epilogue and then, yes, the manga will end. Personally I feel it’s about time. It’s done most of what is needed. Only a few loose ends are left.
