Oh this manga is finished scanned, thank you so much. I can't wait to binge this one. By any chance are you gonna do the 50 missing chapters from here?

Anyone know where I can find those 50 chapters?

Aww we only got a cover for Masayuki, but seems he changed jobs (he's not in factory attire now) and made friends. He's one of the decent guys in the series so I'm glad he's also moving on.

Man, I'm so curious on how Kaede thinks internally; we know Haruhi sees his job as a host as troublesome, hence why he quit here, but we never see how Kaede thinks about his job nor his customers. I guess he's manipulative in a subtle but more dangerous way. He's really just that professional and skilled, huh?

and I see Moe and Tsubasa recommend each other's places to their customers, that's a neat detail.

Thank you once again for scanlating, and good luck with your next series if you decide to pick up more!

Really glad this one got translated all the way through even if the end was fairly meh.

Same. We never got any closure on what he's actually thinking or feeling.

I guess the author doesn't want to spell it out and let readers judge him ourselves but from these hints:

1) What woke up Moe from her obsession is Kaede misspelling/mistaking her name on their chat.
2) While he did wait for Moe to arrive with his present for her, he was capable of celebrating his birthday with his other customer who did pay more than Moe.
3) Moe later spots him in an advertisement where he climbs the top spot in the host club.
4) We see here that he still works in the same club (even though both Haruhi and Nanase have since quit) and the sales went well, so presumably he's still doing well as a host.

So he's a professional host through and through; he can manipulate his customers to spend more on him, enough for him to earn the top spot, while presumable not letting it affect him mentally like what Haruhi experienced. Likely sees their customers as is.

I got that, and he was chasing that #1 slot, and he was clearly putting on an act.
but I mean the dude is a black hole. We never got any insight on who he was otherwise - does Kaede feel anything about Moe at all besides yen? Did he feel conflicted? He was so good at acting like he cared I almost can't believe it was 100% an act.

Haruhi had more going on in his head and with his relationship with his #1 simp, but we never got anything from Kaede.

Binged this as soon as i saw the last update in the main page. Everyone's story was interesting. I liked Runa's character a lot, but i kept hoping for Yuki to return to the center of the story. I'll remember this manga.
Thanks for translating!

I personally interpreted him as similar to Yuki; both of them sees their customers as customers and do their best to make them happy. In Kaede's case, he KNOWS Moe can't afford supporting him to the top, but she's still a customer he can earn money from, so he treats her as nicely as possible while also not outright stopping her from going too far. Both Yuki and Kaede try their best to make their customers happy acting the way they like, in appreciation that these paid customers came to them to feel happy.

We might not see Kaede's story/background/motivation, but if Yuki sees her job as a means to an end, then I assume Kaede is like that as well.

But yeah, since the author didn't show it to us, it's up to us to interpret his character based on his actions.
