Just with the current context, I relate to the feeling of being anxious and someone close being anxious too, and it is quite hard to focus on yourself with that extra baggage. But if his anxiety was the problem (prolly not, ex prolly has some other reason like average misunderstanding romance stories) bro hasn't worked on it if he's still devastated by it. But then again not a lot of context, for now shes valid for me, they were young and theres still lots of life to experience, if she wanted to focus on herself then its fine, but bro has to move on.

Her reasoning makes sense for sure but if an already anxious person gets told they're getting broken up with BECAUSE of said anxiety, I can see how damaging that would be and it's definitely not easy for him to work on. I'm assuming that's where FMC will come in and be a healthier relationship that will actually help him grow. The ex shouldn't be hated on for her reason (unless we see more and it's actually something else) but it's also understandable for MC to be jaded by it.
