I think you're undermining both of their characters a lot. They do genuinely care for the students and want them to survive the brutal years they have to stay at the school. Unfortunately for now the only thing they can do is training the students to be the strongest versions of themselves (Omi) or caring for the wounded (Fran). Just them alone can't change the school and the world to stop the students from having to go to war. That damn teacher, I absolutely despises her. Manipulating Sheena and Mimi into liking her even though she has the blood and trauma of countless children on her hands. Absolute monster who I hope will pay before the end for her role into the making and death of those child soldiers.
Them, actually. Both of them must pay for their heinous crimes against children.
That might hold if they'd been shown to do a single thing to actually protect students from being sent to fight. Have they ? Even when it comes to Sheena they'd done their best so that she's useful to the war effort.I think you're undermining both of their characters a lot. I do admit that the anime does a much better job of showing their characters tho, especially since it changed and added so many new scenes of Omi and Fran showing genuine care and grief.
Oh, give me a break. "I put a weapon in a child's hand, I'm sad it lead to that child being killed" isn't care, it's immoral idiocy. What they need isn't being shown as victims who genuinely suffer from the situation. What they need is a reflection of what they could have done differently.scenes of Omi and Fran showing genuine care and grief
If you haven't seen the anime then I suggest you do, it added a lot of scene that fleshed out their characters more. That might hold if they'd been shown to do a single thing to actually protect students from being sent to fight. If they die in the battlefield, what then? More uncaring, apathetic teachers and nurses might replace them, and that would just make the students' lives worse. Their hands are tied and there is not much they could do, which might change later in the story idk.If they actually wanted to help, they'd be the ones on the battlefield...
Again, I would suggest watching the anime because it does a much better job at this. In the anime it's very clear that they blame themselves for every death that we see.Pretending they're not to blame and are hurt that the children died is purely trying to pass the offender for a victim.
