?? Thats a good story if you put it in a good scenario. Most of royal kind of family niche or any heroes stories mostly have this kind of side stories.

And to extend it, brutally beaten up equal motivation, yknow.

You just need a bit of imagination here and there, plus lots of mangoes does that, especially isekai with a gore tag. easy example, Redo Healer or any "Fuukushu" isekai manga.

Thats a good thing too... Why do you think its a good story for Guts to continue his journey? Casca had a bad end stories. (I said these because her memories or behaviour after that probably gone there) unless Casca got a redemption which is a motivation for Guts to kill Griffith.

tbh Casca in any case still is considered as bad ending despite she probably will have redemption.
