It does seem to be related. There was some ambiguity about whether we should have gone for "kobujutsu" or "classical martial arts" since that's what kobujutsu literally means and the term isn't as familiar as some other martial arts terms but:

Kobujutsu is probably going to show up as a term enough that it's worth establishing rather than settling for "ancient/classical martial arts" every time

And

Right off the bat Akita dwells on the term, letting us establish exactly what it means without needing a translator's note.

Plus we ended up using a mix of approaches especially with Miu's more casual register

I guess they will have to bother this girl enough to make her fight?
funny thing too that such a precise technique style of fighting (I mean, it proposes itself to be) is the one that will teach this instinct raw state of battle.

I'm not a fan of the schoolgirl "booooriiiing" archetype. But constrasting against these characters it might be fun to see! mc and our main antagonist are pretty straight and only exaggerated in the edge. Miu is funsies though.

Plot I'd like to see going forward considering she's such a brat.

1. Grandpa comes out and gives her a good scolding for not picking up on the potential of Akita or the actual granddaughter he never had who can kick her ass.

2. Rikudou goes ahead and kicks her ass and then grandpa comes out.

3. Grandpa assesses Akita's potential and wants him to inherit after marrying the Gyaru.
