Eva is stupidly OP. It took everything Weiss and Allen could muster TOGETHER to beat one dragon. She beats one dragon almost by herself without breaking a sweat. 😱

Thanks for the translation.
Will make it even more impressive when the two surpasses her

I mean do you think Milk-sensei or Eva-senpai are hero worthy? world could be destroyed and they don't give 2 sh!ts about it
^ there are many strong characters in the orignal game, and the hero builds a team out of them. So it does stand to reason that there would be many powerful individuals from which players could choose their combat team.
I mean at least Milk sensei attack was to stop the dragon from ending those 2 and those dragons are certainly strong af, so it's not that weird and pretty much the dragon escaped instantly because she would get killed by the teachers
Milk stabs her sword into it's skull and the other instructor swings for it's neck. Both should be near fatal wounds. So Eva just finished off an already badly injured dragon.

Oof. That's like the worst from the Dragon's mate's perspective. You just show up, see your literal mate dead, try to kill the people responsible for it, get ragdolled by a bunch of powerful adults of that same species, and then you're not even allowed to flee (no seriously, that part was just cruel; made me wish the main characters died for a minute).
No that's more like you show up home to see your spouse killed by some kids they kidnapped then after trying to kill the kids in revenge you get gunned down by the police

Feel free to ignore this post, I was in a rather bad mood when I wrote it. While I broadly stand behind what I said, nothing in this thread called for this level of anger.

@ everyone hating on Lavish. Did she do the wrong thing? Yes. Should she have called for help for the Weiss and Allan? Yes (did Milk and Darius hear about it from her?). Is she a horrible evil piece of shit who deserves to die because of it? No, and if you think Yes for this, go face a dragon yourself, then come back and comment again.

Besides, she's basically a nothing background character, nothing to get your knickers in a twist over. This instant knee-jerk violent irrational hatred that people spout all over the internet for the most minor of things is fucking depressing.

Sure hope this is boosting the LN sales so it gets to keep going and didn't have a planned out stopping point. Typically you see adaptations end sometime between 3 and 6 volumes and this is right around that sweet spot now.

Falsely reporting them dead goes beyond what is reasonable, surely.
Hiding that she panicked and fled is perhaps understandable - even if it's very unlikely that anyone would have blamed her for it - but claiming that they were already dead is the sort of thing that might ensure said deaths, by implying that any rescue attempt is pointless.

Reacting to 3 negative comments out of 3 forum pages, misrepresenting them as claiming she is "a horrible evil piece of shit that deserves to die", is also a little weird.
I'm not going to deny that the Mangadex forums have a clear tendency to froth at the mouth towards women, but I'm not convinced that's happening here; certainly there's no apparent "knee-jerk violent irrational hatred".
Nor is it particularly "the most minor of things" to set 3 other people up to die, but y'know.

Animals live in the natural order. That's what the natural order is like. 🤷

No doubt they've done it to countless lesser creatures for territory, food or fun.

Finally decided to catch up to this, thanks for the TL

Also my 2¢ on the whole Lavish stuff, yes she probably shouldn't have already reported them as dead but also it was a fucking dragon. That's not even getting into the fact that a 2nd one appeared right after.
They also said they were going to create an opportunity for the two of them to escape and she sure as hell took it, Bosworth just sat there frozen in fear.
Last thing, this is clearly supposed to be a joke given how she's immediately proven wrong and given the side-eye.

She indeed is stupidly OP, almost seems more so than the senseis honestly. But to be fair, they both did still deal pretty critical damage to the dragon before it tried to fly off and was downed by Eva. Eva wasn't fighting a dragon that was in full strength, it was already in the middle of running away after taking critical damage.

You're the one underplaying what she did. She fled like a coward, abandoning others. Then to make matters worse, she lies about them being dead, which could have caused a situation where help wouldn't have reached them in time. She had no reason to say that they were dead, this honestly seems malicious more than just her being a dunce. It doesn't matter if she's a background character, a hate-able character is a hate-able character, people are valid in feeling hatred and anger towards a character. That's like saying all the side villains in any manga shouldn't be hated or anything and just ignored, because they're nothing but a side character that only had relevance for a handful of chapters, despite how despicable they were within those few chapters.

Why? he had nothing to do with any of that and the dragons only have themselves to blame

No that's more like you show up home to see your spouse killed by some kids they kidnapped then after trying to kill the kids in revenge you get gunned down by the police
To be fair, the dragon was just sleeping in its home, minding its own damn business…

While I don’t hate a gag character that was there to move the battle forward, she did use Bosworth as a human shield. Also, from the dialogue from earlier chapters, it seems like she instigated the battle against the dragon, instead of hiding or running away.

Some people find such weaknesses and fault somewhat understandable giving the situation. Doesn‘t make her any less of a POS.

This is why you I shouldn't comment when you're I'm already kind of pissed off because of other parts of the internet. I mostly stand by what I said though, she's guilty of wrongdoing, but she's not a villain, just an idiot. Her (and Bosworth) versus a dragon was basically like a pair of 5 year old versus a pissed off grizzly bear.
