I would love to support the authors of the stories I love. But when a company has scummy business practices, censors works, and systemically suppresses existing scanlations they have no rights over, then I have no reason to believe any significant portion of my money will actually reach the authors. So not only do I have zero reason to give Manga UP money, their presence is preventing a reputable business from scanlating the works in their stead. They have made the yuri industry worse off, and it's shameful that MangaDex is assisting them. I don't want to use other sites, but MD isn't giving me a whole lot of choice here.

You are nonetheless correct that this particular implementation of the project has been...less than stellar. Might be done soon though and we'll all forget about it in a week.

There is nothing in the Community Guidelines that directly says that outlinks are exempt. And aren't the MangaDex staff supposed to follow the guidelines they have set for the community instead of bypassing it entirely just because they are staff, weren't they supposed to be a model for the community instead of breaking their own guidelines?
