Thats actually what I adore about this manga. Things are getting DONE, without pointless red herrings or long foreshadowing. We see that Kumugi has a lot a magical power, but lack in self esteem. The moment she tagged along I knew this was gonna be her arc and the author takes it up on the spot. Shes gonna be a bad ass by the end of it and I’m all in for it!

so far she is like early Naruto. we know she has potential in the form of huge pool of mana. i hope by the end of this arc she can acquire her equivalent of Rasen Shuriken (maybe Hakari??)

So in my reread there was also the incident where she injured her sister. My read of the incident is that she's always had low output but high capacity. The explosion happened because she overloaded the bulb with her full capacity, it appears later the way she got around this later is increasing her amount of outputs.

My guess on what will happen, Kumugi is going to get mass fire weapons and able to pull out many guns. She will find all the pieces but being more rule bound and a witch cadet she will try to get them to desscaress instead of putting them together herself. Runs into hikari and during the fight begins overwhelming fire to the point he can't crush all of the bullets.

Then amadoro or desscaress will order her to acquire hikari right before she's about to get crushed. Then they'll get inviskids trial from him. He'll think it's an impossible Intel based trial like find my hideout while she'll have already figured it out.

The chance she'll get hikari is very high, but the chance she gets invisikid is guaranteed. He's an intel gatherer and will fit her perfectly, he's also a comedic failure.

Edit. It's likely hikari's pieces are a near impossible puzzle and she's the only witch (cadet) on the team who's grey mass isn't purely for combat
