It doesn't really. Pretty sure I've been permanently scarred from when I was fed some as a child and it ended...... bad (to put it lightly). It's one of the few things that can make me gag just from the smell and the sight of it.

All I'm gonna say is SPAM in Asia is just built different, and are often times prepared to work around the sodium content in their own different ways. The most common being pairing it with rice, with the rice taking the brunt of the majority of the sodium content.

Ive never taste spam in my entire life.

It's really ironic that the character I liked the most was Tsukune!! I thought that I'd hate him since he looked like a weak person who'd hide behind Moka and he'd be nothing more than a cardboard MC!!! Turns out I was very wrong and I'm glad I was proven wrong!!! The story was quite enjoyable too and I would've prefered if the story was expanded a bit more!!! But it was good enough as it is!

I remember a former co-worker bringing some along to compare to the local Japanese version by doing exactly that, raw and straight out of the tin, with our Japanese colleague comparing the experience to eating "raw canned dog food".
