I do want to defend the ending as being the closure of one moment of their lives and opening of another. They are only starting HS so still many unresolved problems (careers, life together, etc), which is understandable.

That being said, the series hasn't really moved me like earlier on. The trip to the theme park, the speech itself seemed much more muted than Ichi giving his speech or the condom episode.

Maybe she wanted to make it clear the series is over by leaving us with a lower note? I dunno, but something intangible changed that made the series less rewarding. Hard to put my finger on, but I almost feel this particular ending could have been made 20 chapters ago.

What a lovely series, sad to see it go. But nonetheless I'm glad I got to experience it. In my eyes the ending isn't that bad considering they're just middle schoolers. I just wish we could see more of their lives as they continue onto High school and whatnot. I don't think I'm ready to let both of these dorks go, I want to see more of their cute and wholesome interactions, I want to see them be little goofballs in their own little space with just them. Just one last time

So what would be a good point to have stopped reading the series? When did it conclude an arc at it's peak? Because there was good stuff here after they started dating, but around the condom arc and definitely during the song arc, we lost our way somewhere.

Such a bittersweet ending but in a nice way. Specially with both of their letters to their old selves and a new year starting to new students in the school.
