Dang, author is not pulling any punches if childhood friend dies. Author is fully committing to the horror!

Its going to be this. No reason to obscure the assailant if its just going to be who we suspect
Could also be that Ayame’s true form is nothing like the one she presents as, especially considering that she might be possessing a missing girl, and so that reveal is being saved for when Ota sees it.

Two things I can interpret the end here: she's the hunted or she's already the traumatized hunter. And, if the latter, this is her first time or the tears is part of the act and she's just as insane as Ayame.

Hey I don't want my yandere character being mean to nice people 💢
Isn't that the point of yandere ? If a yandere is being kind to other people but you, then she's a sadistic person not a yandere

Can a girlfriend and childhood friend get along...?
Does this have the same answer as how can two people keep a secret? :thonk:

These childhood friends type really suck. All they have is a history with the male protagonist that we as readers do not know about. And the “his mother asked me to take care of him” thing is as forced as the arranged marriage trope. They are completely inferior compared to heroines who started from scratch and show off their quirks and personality.

The new girl is just the author saying “she’s a heroine because she knows MC” and shoving it down the reader’s throat. No different from those black haired boring childhood friends from To love ru and Nisekoi

I really liked the forest scene, that odd being gave me some Darkwood feels

I won't cast some hasty judgements, I'm expecting some plot twists. I wonder if it was just some comment out of sheer disgust or if the detective has some experiences with the supernatural to suggest that the murder had to be commited by something other than a human.

Y'all falling for the big booba osananajimi but we have near zero information about her character.

Protecc the yandere gf :headpat: :02:

ota kun you better save your childhood friend, she’s the only one that’s sane.
Nope... Accoding to Great Yandere Assembly's latest decision all "sane" people sentenced to execution in a random order.

There's no fixing this one, I hope the childhood friend doesn't die but it's inevitable.
I'm waiting for the reveal the childhood friend is even MORE dangerous than the Yokai he's attracted the attention of.

just hope it's some bait-and-switch kinda thing where some other random asshole tries to grape her and she gets saved by the psycho gf or whatever
Or that.

Well, now we know it's definitely something supernatural. doubt the cop said that for nothing.

I'm glad that a we have a true yandere horror story and it's not just a character quirk or romcom.

Você tem razão, ele está até usando a camisa de trabalho durante a viagem. Isso me passou despercebido e eu li em ordem cronológica (o que, claro, não fez sentido).

Muito obrigado! Agora posso aproveitar ainda mais!:)

I'm expecting a new character or new criminal/villain now going after Sayuri (the childhood friend). The eyes of Sayuri's attacker doesn't look anything like Ayame's slit eyes when she is threatening someone. Given our current understanding (or best hypothesis), Ayame is definitely a supernatural and probably a yokai of some kind. And all of her supposed victims thus far took out their own eyes and arms. Ayame wouldn't need to torture Sayuri like this with blade/knife cuts (unless Ayame is doing this personally and physically without resorting to supernatural powers).

We should take note that Ayame in chapter 1, page 50 found and held on to Ota kun's "Omamori" amulet (for reference on what it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omamori). I'd also pay attention to the knot pattern on Ayame's... neck band; which seems to match the Omamori's knot pattern pattern. It is entirely possible that Ayame is actually a "ward" and her elimination of the bully and Ota kun's dad granted Ota kun the immediate physical protection he needed. Looking back at chapter 1 page 4, bully literally said he'd stop once Ota kun is dead; chapter 1 page 22, even his dad threatened to kill him after beating the shit outta him.

Regardless of our hypothesis, the most important parts are that we haven't seen Ayame carry out the actual attacks, it's always been a time skip (except for the bully). Daddy drove the truck after he saw a figure and the bully did it to himself after getting spooked by Ayame. That detective is basically bullshi**ing himself and everyone around him with make-belief circumstantial hypothesis. I'd like to see a judge and jury actually try to take his words and convict someone without physical evidence or money trail (no evidence and conviction on circumstantial motives is basically a f***ing kangaroo court skit).

I also don't think Ayame is out to kill Sayuri, at least not at the moment based on her reaction to Ayame backing off on page 26. And Ayame actually not falling despair like the bully when Ayame looked her way; because Sayuri isn't threatening Ota kun. The more likely possibility is that Ayame knew about Sayuri's fate/fortune - but lightly laughing it off... is unnerving.
