Unfortunately true 😔, I think is because Mangaka can't often write stories where things happen as a consequence of everything that happened before.
Look at the other twin sisters one, despite dating for most of the chapters he is still awkward around them

It's very clear the author prefers Hikari over Usami. Usami moments are very short over Hikari and seems like Hikari is taking over all the first times with MC.

from my observation, its not just romcoms, it happen mostly to works that started out as a webnovel. Those webnovels usually ends when the initial premise is solved, but they keep making more once it became Light Novels. That's when I noticed there's noticeable drop in writing quality.
