I'm not sure if its specifically real but well made perfume will aromize at human body temperature, so directly on any skin is valid. I've heard putting it on your chest espeically wit a low neckline dress. Putting it on you belly would mostly 'trap' the scent in your clothes, meaning it would mostly be coming up from the neck of the shirt, so I guess it'd act like a very dilute but potentially longer-lasting neck application.
