The novel is very much a slice of life with few clear delimitations, where time can pass quite quickly between events. That blurred sense of time is hard to reproduce in manga form. I haven't read the novel this far, about a year ago it went in hiatus and I don't know if it was picked up again...

What I think happened is that the Japanese was 1000万 (1000 man, 10 million) and 10億 (10 oku, 1 billion) and the translation messed up on the second one.

It's a bit sad to see time wasted on an academy arc with a lot of details when realistically with how much of a monster his sister is it won't matter at all later down the line. It ended up getting axed over additional world-building.

While the setup is interesting, I can see why it got axed so fast. The format doesn't match reader expectations.

Yeah, I'm catching up now to see how it ended up and it's sad how such an interesting premise wasn't used again up until the axe.

I thought there would be some kind of plot and Ageha's achievements were stolen or something, now this arc is putting it all back in question.
